11/4/19: Claire Frechette -- Introduction to Ice Models in Number Theory
Abstract: In this talk, I'll introduce you to the six-vertex, or "ice," lattice model and show you how such a simple tool becomes a powerful arrow in the number theory quiver (pun intended). I'll also give a brief sense of how I'm applying this amazing method in my own research. No background knowledge is required, although ability to count to two will be necessary.
